Set designer Alfons Flores has been collaborating with the renowned Catalan theatre company La Fura dels Baus for many years. He is responsible for the set design of Ligeti´s Le Grand Macabre, to be performed at the Norwegian Opera & Ballett during Ultima Festival 2013.

About Alfons Flores
Born in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat in 1957, Flores begins to work as a setdesigner in 1978 at the group GAT, from l’Hospitalet del Llobregat (Barcelona), of which he was one of the founders.
His work for opera has led him to opera theaters such as Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real, English National Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Komische Oper, La Monnaie, Theater Basel, Opéra de Lyon, Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Oper am Rhein. Among his most representative opera sets are Carmen (1999 and 2011), Un Ballo in Maschera (2000, 2010 and 2013), Don Giovanni (2002), Die Fledermaus (2002), Die Entführung aus dem Serail (2004), Wozzeck (2005 y 2009), Le Grand macabre (2009), Mahagonny (2010), Adriana Lecouvreur (2010), Król Roger (2011), Tristan & Isolde (2011), Oedipe (2011), and Erwartung / Il prigioniero (2013). Flores is currently designing the sets for Il barbiere di Siviglia (Aachen), Faust (Amsterdam), Madama Butterfly (Sydney) and Werther (Stuttgart), as well as for the theatre play Salvador Espriu: evocació del foc (Barcelona).
